Nepalese Australian Welfare Society (NAWS) has been organising soccer event every year to encourage Nepalese soccer players in Sydney to participate and promote their skills. NAWS aim is to encourage sportsmanship and fair play as well as equally promote friendship through sports among Nepalese and cultivate the values of sharing, optimism, self-fulfilment and success. Nepalese Australian Welfare Society Running Shield started from 2003.

The NAWS Soccer Tournament 2009 final program was held at Wyatt park, Lidcombe on Sunday30th August09.Following is the Final result of the NAWS Annual soccer tournament for this year.

The Champions/Winner- Himalayan Youth Club
The Runner-Up- Sagarmatha FC
The Third place- Club Nepal
The Fourth place- Laligurans FC
The Fair play Team- Club Nepal
Man of the Match- Rajiv Pradhan (Himalayan Youth Club)
Man of the Series- Sanjeep Pradhan ( Himalayan Youth Club )
