Nepalese Indigenous Nationalities Forum, Australia (NINFA)
NINFA has been celebrating world indigenous day on 9th of August every year. This year too we are celebrating this great day with various events. We’ve invited Nepal’s popular artists Mr.Khem Raj Gurung and Mrs.Reema Gurung to perform in this year’s programme.Khem Raj Gurung the famous folk-pop artist is known by his most popular song “Eka dasi bajarai ma” amongst Nepalese all over the world.
He has also recorded many songs along with other popular artists.Mrs.Reema gurung is a versatile singer, daughter of senior musician Mr.Prakash Gurung.Her first recorded song was “timilay nai rojyou,timilay nai khojyou” which was a big hit. She has also sung in many Nepalese flims, apart from flimi songs she has recorded many melodious, folk and modern pop songs. Apart from the artists local bands, indigenous cultural shows and Dj will be entertaining the crowd. This year NINFA has decided to perform two shows.First show which is on 9th August at Orian Function Centre, 155 Beamish St.Campsie starts at 5pm with various indigenous dances, costume parade and live songs by Mr.Khem Raj Gurung and Mrs.Reema Gurung. The next show on 15th August at Gaelic Club, 64 Devonshire St. Surry Hills. The programme kicks off at 8.30pm with live performance by Mr.Khem Raj Gurung and Mrs.Reema Gurung followed by local Nepali band and Dj.The second show at Gaelic club has been organized specially to entertain the youths. Finally we request every one whether indigenous or non-indigenous Nepalese to participate in these programmes and celebrate this world indigenous day with great success.
